Garissa (RBC) The death toll of Garissa church explosion has risen to 18 as dozens injured lay in the local hospital, local media reports.
On Sunday unidentified gunmen attacked hand grenades in two churches in the centre of Garissa town killing 18 people and wounding dozens in gun.
The victims were inside the churches on Sunday morning when the gun men attacked directly the churches and quickly escaped from the scene, eye witnesses confirmed.
Officials of Kenyan police forces claimed they were searching for the attackers who are suspected from Somalia but were not yet identified their identities.
Kenya is waging heavy war against Somalia’s Al Shabaab Islamist rebels but the group has not commented on the attacks on the two churches.
Meanwhile on Friday five foreign aid workers including two Norwegians, Canadian, Pakistani and Philippines were abducted from Dhadhab refugee camps in Kenya. No direction has claimed the abduction.
